Motif of love

Today, I want to tell you about motif of love. It is omnipresent in literature, in movies, in plays, in songs. It is basically in every aspects of our life. Here may appear the question, why? The response is very simple, because without love, there would be nothing.
Love has been present in early works of literature, such as Greek and Roman mythology, for example, Penelope from Homer’s Odyssey, who was waiting twenty years for her husband Odysseus return. Why was she waiting for him so long? Because she loved him.
Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy written by William Shakespeare, is a base example of unfulfilled love. Two young people fell in love each other at first sight, but unfortunately, theirs families were warring, and they couldn’t get married. However, the young promised the love and got married without their parent’s knowledge or consent. Soon afterwards, Juliet feigned death in order to avoid an arranged marriage with another man, her relative. Romeo didn’t know anything about it, and he believed that his beloved was really dead. He couldn’t live without her and killed himself. When Juliet knew that Romeo was dead, she was broken-hearted and she also took her own life.

As far as song are concerned, the majority of songs is about love fulfilled and unfulfilled. They talk about the longing, the desire and in general about love, for example:
The time of my life from the movie Dirty dancing
Bryan Adams - (Everything I Do) I Do It For You
Elvis Presley - Always On My Mind
Andrea Bocelli ft. Giorgia - Vivo Per Lei
Michael Bolton - When a man loves a woman
Kelly Family - I Can't Help Myself and much more.

So, I come to the conclusion that people aren’t made for lonely life. Everybody needs someone close to love and care for him, because like in the song of The Beatles “Love is all you need”. It give us a large dose of energy and a will to live.
